The client was looking for something simple. He wanted the design to take full advantage of sites east to west orientation and capture as much northern sun as possible, in particular to the living spaces, while also maximise the backyard space. The master bedroom was to be separate from the other bedrooms, one which was to serve as a music room. Probably a good idea, drums can get a little loud. The Building aesthetic had some tight design guidelines to adhere to, the client wanted something lightweight and coastal so a combination of raked roof lines and timber and weather board claddings were selected to satisfy the brief. An outcome the client was thrilled with.
