Pivot Homes Raises the Bar with Home of the Year
On Friday 24th of August 2018, building industry leaders and VIPs from across Western Victoria gathered at the RACV Torquay Resort for the annual 2018 HIA Western Victoria Regional Housing Awards.
Having three homes entered in the awards across different categories, the Pivot Homes’ team were sitting tightly with crossed fingers for a win.
The result, well, we were blown away!
The first win was for our current Display Home in Unity Drive Mount Duneed; Best Display Home over $500,000. The Display Home showcases value for money for a high-quality construction and finish. To complete the Display Home category awards, Pivot Homes were also presented the award of Display Home of the Year. Wowzers… pop the champers!
Moving along, Pivot Homes received an acknowledgement as award runner up for Custom Built Home $500,000 to $750,000 with our Inverleigh custom build. This build is an acreage style home set amongst a beautiful rural residential site. A well-deserved commendation.
Now reaching the pointy end of the awards and feeling excited about the Display Home wins, the best was yet to come.
Pivot Homes were awarded Custom Built Home over $1 million for our Separation Creek custom build. And if that wasn’t enough, the most prestigious accolades and recognition of both Custom Built Home of the Year and Home of the Year!
“We are incredibly honoured to receive this award,” said Michael Pietersen, Pivot Homes Director. “I want to thank the HIA, our whole team and everyone who helped to make this project happen. It wasn’t an easy project, but we couldn’t be happier with the end result. It’s a credit to all involved and a fantastic way to celebrate 30 years in business.”
The HIA commented “The home is beautifully designed and luxuriously appointed and is all the more impressive because it was built on a very steep and challenging block. As an indication of how difficult the site was, the bottom floor of the home is nearly four meters above the driveway and is accessed via a grand entry staircase. Despite these challenges, the home was built with minimal excavation and site works.”
Upstairs the home features two living areas around a feature three-way fireplace. A large entertainer’s kitchen with butler’s pantry and a dining room, as well as two large bedrooms, complete the upper floor.
The lower floor features another two bedrooms, as well as a pool room with a kitchenette and its own deck. Huge picture window frames and extensive decking ensure that almost every room in the home benefits from breathtaking ocean views.
Fiona Nield, HIA Victorian Regional Executive Director stated “This is an outstanding home, and a fantastic showcase of the kind of high quality work Victorian builders and HIA members are renowned for.”
So, what’s next? Pivot Homes will now go on to be a finalist in the custom built homes category of the 2018 HIA CSR Victoria Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards, Custom Built Home $1 million to $1.5 million and Display Home $600,001 to $1 million categories, respectively. The awards will be held on November 9th at the Palladium Ballroom in Crown Towers, Melbourne.
Wish us luck!
